The editorial board of Balcanica welcomes submissions for the next issue of the journal, LVI, which is expected to be published towards the end of 2025.

Balcanica is the annual, peer-reviewed, Open Access journal of the Institute for Balkan Studies of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. We welcome submissions from all disciplines of humanities: archaeology, anthropology, ethnography, history, art history, linguistics, literature, law, migration and religious studies. These can concern individual Balkan countries, a group of countries or the region as a whole. Contributions based on interdisciplinary approach are particularly welcomed.

If you wish to contribute to the next issue of our journal, you are kindly required to submit your paper (maximum 10,000 words) alongside a concise abstract (maximum 300 words) and 5-10 keywords, or your review (maximum 2,000 words), to the e-mail address balcanica@bi.sanu.ac.rs, by June 1st, 2025.

Authors will receive a notification of acceptance of their proposal by August 1st, 2025.

All articles will be subject to double-blind review by qualified experts.
