Abstract
The author's comparison of Radić's translation of Orbin's history of Bosnia with the text of Vladisavljević shows that Radić endeavoured very much to stick to the sources, even up to the letter, so that his translation is rather rarely abundant with freedom and independence, which only means that departures from the original are insignificant. While translating word and sentence by sentence, Radić, who is from Sarajevo, used not only Russian and Slav-Serbian literary forms, but also the Serbian dialect. The author concludes that Radić's translation, although modest and insufficiently formed, represents an important document both for the historical development of our literary language and for our history.Metrics
